Ah… so you’ve come for some lore?

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Dillon Roman, and I have been a professional artist since 2018. Born and raised in the vibrant cultural hub of Manhattan, New York, art has always been an integral part of my life. Growing up in a city renowned for its rich artistic and theatrical landscape exposed me to a world of creativity from a young age.

My mother, trained in classical operatic singing at SUNY Purchase, and my father, a former spray-paint muralist in New York City, both had a profound influence on my artistic journey. Later in life, my father became a pivotal figure in the creation of House Music in the 1970s, co-founding Big Beat Records and producing iconic tracks such as “Show Me Love” by Robin S and “Set It Off” by Strafe. Creativity runs deeply through my veins, shaped by the legacy of both my parents.

For my personal works, I go by the alias Buddha Head. While I often create physical sculptures and pieces, my illustrations and paintings predominantly fall within the pop art genre.

I draw my main inspirations from some of the most influential figures in the creative world, including Virgil Abloh, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, D*Face, and Banksy, among others.

“Art is a way of recognizing oneself, which is why it will always be modern” - Louise Bourgeois
